I recently finished a drawing combining stippling, flowers, and mandalas. It's a lot of weird. My wife said so.
"I don't get it," she said. "There's so much going on. But then again, I don't like what a lot of people like."
I did it to combine what I've learned over the last couple of years. It's been a while since I took a drawing course and I didn't want that to be it. I hate the term "self-taught" because that implies you must have someone there to teach you something. I like to say "self-learned." I had some formal instruction but I observed people, I watched videos, I tried new things.
All this is to say, I'm going to embark on a new challenge soon. I feel like I've built enough of a base to get this project off the ground. I've wanted to do this for years, and I finally feel like I have enough base skills to give it a start.
More to come. Wish me luck!
